Progress
It has been a while since I was able to update our remodeling adventures. We have been busy, trust me! The next few pages will show a sample of what we have managed to accomplish over the past few weeks. Enjoy!

Here you see we finally got the carpeting replaced upstairs. We decided to go with the same stuff we picked out for the family room and steps. Looks nice and clean, and we can spruce it up with area rugs.

Finally, the sliding glass door in the dining room is gone. This new plate window is in its place. The first photo shows how it looked right after it was installed. the next picture shows off the finished framed window. Below are pictures of the window painted and dressed up with new curtains. Note the giant cat tree. Karma and Ghost weren't that good, but it was on sale, so they lucked out and got it for Christmas. We wondered if they would use it...They were climbing on it as we carried it upstairs!

Yes, the long awaited front door!

I really had to search to find this door. Most are all swirls and flowers with frosted glass. This one is patterend after a Frank Lloyd Wright design and uses three types of glass: ribbed, beveled, and granite, which is that crackled stuff on the outer edges. I need to wait until spring or so to stain it. Too cold right now.

Here is a close up of the hardware for the door. I got lucky and found this reduced at Lowe's for $50. It ended up being a perfect match for the hinges.
