| There won't be any work done over the weekend, so I thought I would take this time to show you the small details like the counter top color and all that we picked out. Plus, the stove got here at 8:30 this morning! | ||

Here is the faucet I got for the kitchen sink. I wanted something with a high arc but I didn't want it to look like those regular silver things. I saw this in a darker color in the store for over $200. But I got it on eBay for way less and they had it in this antique copper color. You can't really see it properly on the box, but the whole thing is in a reddish brushed copper color. It isn't bright, but it is polished and shiny. It has 4 pieces: the faucet, the handle, a sprayer, and a soap dispenser. I don't really care about the soap thing, but there is room for it in the sink. I am told it's nice to have. |

| Above is the floor we picked out. We had wanted tile, but that was not going to work out for many reasons. So we went with a nice-looking sheet vinyl flooring. But it was garbage according to the contractor. It was very soft and would rip easily and get ruined quickly especially if we were going to put a table and chair set in the room. I could see that he was right after he pointed this out. It was made even more apparent when he left a sample of better quality floor material. This stuff is sturdy and strong, plus it is textured and really looks a lot like actual tile. It also matches everything perfectly! Below you see I put the cabinet knobs and the color chip for the counter top on the floor sample and it looks great together. It is of course more money and I hope we can fit it into the budget. To the lower right there is the color chip sample for the counter top. It washed out in this picture because in person, it looks a couple shades deeper. |

To the left is the new sink. Well,
the new sink's picture on its box. It is a composite material made to
look like it is stone. It is black and has two eight-inch bowls and four
holes drilled across the rim already for the 4-hole faucet I bought. I
could have lived without the soap thing, but since there is a spot for
it, they are going to install it.

The new stove is a glass top convection
oven. Sounds fancy, but it is one of the least expensive models at Lowe's.
We got a matching black microwave/range hood combo to go with it. That
is still in the box with no good pictures on it. Scott is going to have
some words for the color choice because we already do not have enough
light, and now we are adding even MORE darkness to the room! Oh well,
I like the dark anyway, and we will worry about lights later on. We hope
to raise the ceiling in a few months, we will try to get some recessed
lights in then. Well, that's the plan anyways.

When there is something new in the houseor something old but in a different spotit needs a thorough going over from the inspectors. They should hire these cats for Homeland Security because nothing escapes their attention. Here Karma makes sure to look over every inch of the new stove and leave her cat prints all over it. She needed an assist from Ghost (see below to the left) because this was so large an item. | |
