Kitchen
Day 3
|
||
| More pleasant surprises today. Scott and Russ were busy little kitchen installers today and got all the base cabinets in the room. A couple of them are installed, but most are roughly positioned and sitting in place awaiting final placement and installation. Still, it looks fantastic. The color is great, lots of deep red and woodgrain swirls. We rushed out tonight and got the sink and ordered the oven so everything is ready when they are for the final steps. I did get a call saying things would slow down from this point, but I am just thrilled to see this much in place already! | ||

| Above is a close up of a single cabinet located next to the fridge near the dining room doorway. To the right is the lazy Susan corner cabinet. These cabinets are real wood and metal glides; no junk here! The doors are finished on both sides and below you can see how thick the drawers are. They are solid maple. | ||

Here are two views of the sink
base: it has a tilt out with two small junk collector cups. I'll have
those filled in no time. To the right is a long view from the living room
doorway showing the pantry corner and small cabinet near the fridge. Below
is a close-up of the hardware we got for the doors.

And last but not least, here is
an updated shot of the front door. I have painted the trim to match the
baseboards of the rest of the house. The inside panels will be stained
a color similar to the kitchen cabinetry.
