Kitchen Week 2
|
||
| It is now Monday, 1/12, and work has resumed on the kitchen. The hardware (knobs and pulls) positions were quickly determined, and then they went right to the remaining cabinets. In no time they had the last ones up on the wall, over the sink and new stove position. They took the doors off so they could put up the cabinets easier, plus they need to adjust the doors a little here and there so they do not scrape the ceiling when I open the cabinet. Things are really taking shape in here! Tomorrow the counter top gets underway, and it cannot happen soon enough. | ||

Here is how things stood by noon
of Monday. The last wall cabinets were in place and the molding was next.
With all this wood in the room now, it is getting pretty dark. But we
are looking ahead to a few months down the road when we can get the ceiling
fixed and install small spotlights to evenly distribute light. Or maybe
a big center light, I dunno.

| Here is the final result for Monday's labor. The molding has been put into place along the top, a space filler has been added next to the wall, the light valence over the sink is installed, and the vent ductwork for the oven has been cut and put into place. Doesn't look like much, but it was a lot of work, especially the molding because the ceiling was being uncooperative. The duct had to be cut and formed on site. They did a great job, quick too! | ||

| Here are several photos of the inspectors doing what they do best. Karma even gave the electrical work the once over. I knew they would be in the cabinets and it only took them 30 seconds to find their way up into them. | ||
